Mr. van Hulten is an internet pioneer with 20+ years of industry experience. He cofounded SpeedPort in 1997, the first carrier neutral data centre in Amsterdam. In 1999, he was part of the founding team of Interxion, a leading European data centre operator. 18 years later, he founded PAIX to focus 100% on the data centre opportunity on the African continent.
He also initiated the Swiss-IX in 2001, the France-IX in 2009, the Accra-IX in 2023, and the Nairobi-IX in 2024. He initiated and co-founded the Africa Data Centres Association in 2018, and is currently a board member. Wouter is a graduate of Imperial College and INSEAD.
