In 2011, Guy co-founded IXcellerate, the leading data centre company in Russia, and in 2019 co-founded IXAfrica to focus on African hypercloud projects, starting with Nairobi, Kenya.
In 2021 he became Chairman of IX Acquisition Corp.
He was also a key investor and board member of Teraco, the leading datacentre operator in South Africa until 2014, and a board member of Lamda Hellix, the leading datacentre operator in Greece until 2017.
In 2010, Guy founded the International Data Centre Group (IDC-G), an alliance of emerging market data centre operators.
In 1998, Guy co-founded IXEurope, a market leader in high-end data centre services. IXEurope was acquired by Equinix Inc. in 2007 for $555 million. IXEurope was awarded the Queen’s Award for International Trade in 2006.
Prior to founding IXEurope, Guy worked on telecoms projects for Vivendi Group between 1992 and 1998 both in the UK and in Hungary. Prior to 1992 he began his career with Philips NV in Paris and Vienna, working in CDROM, Smart Card and Minitel technologies, programming in Assembly Language. Guy graduated in 1986 from Oxford Brookes University with a BSc in Engineering.
