THE TECH CAPITAL
Honouring strategic contributions to capital, operations, technology and policy in the digital economy
11 MAY 2026
London
Call for entries is now closed
The Tech Capital Global Awards 2026 acknowledge excellence and leadership in the global digital infrastructure ecosystem. The annual programme recognises organisations and individuals whose strategic decisions, operational execution and long-term vision have materially influenced how digital infrastructure - including data centres, connectivity, cloud platforms and energy systems - is financed, built and governed.
At a moment of shifting capital conditions and heightened execution risk, the Awards underscore the value of discipline, resilience and performance. Nominees and winners are evaluated not on narrative alone but on measurable impact, strategic outcome and contribution to the evolution of the industry.
The Awards bring together industry peers, investors, policymakers and operators in a distinguished setting, providing a forum to honour achievement, facilitate high-level networking and reflect on the forces shaping global digital infrastructure.
Hosted by Lord John Bird
John Bird, Baron Bird of Notting Hill, MBE, is a British social entrepreneur and life peer. He is best known as the co-founder of the Big Issue, a magazine that is edited by professional journalists and sold by street vendors who are homeless or vulnerably housed. Lord Bird sits as an independent Crossbencher member of the House of Lords.
Special Performance by Cyrill Ibrahim
A British concert pianist and graduate of the Royal College of Music, Cyrill has performed in major concert halls across Europe and for the Royal Family at Balmoral. His work bridges tradition and contemporary culture, from the concert platform to private performances - including Kim Kardashian’s 45th birthday celebration in London. He has been described by The Daily Telegraph as ‘one of the most exciting pianists of his generation’.

The Big Issue exists to create opportunity for people facing homelessness and financial hardship through enterprise, not charity - helping individuals earn, learn and rebuild through work, support and access to opportunity.
This year, The Tech Capital and the Global Awards are proud to support their work and the wider mission of the Big Issue Group in tackling poverty and creating pathways into employment, stability and economic participation across the UK.
As an organisation built around business, infrastructure and long-term investment, we believe strongly in the importance of creating systems that generate lasting opportunity and social impact alongside economic growth.
If you would like to support the initiative and contribute to the work being carried out by the Big Issue Group, donations can be made via the link below.

London, the capital of the United Kingdom, stands as one of the world’s foremost financial centres. Its iconic financial district, known as The City, hosts leading banks, institutions, and the London Stock Exchange, cementing its status as a hub of finance and investment. The city’s financial prominence dates back to the establishment of the City of London following the Roman invasion. The Bank of England, the evolution of the stock exchange, and the adoption of innovations from Amsterdam helped London compete with Paris and emerge as a global financial leader.
In 2026, London welcomes The Tech Capital’s flagship International Finance Forum 2026 and Global Awards, attracting delegates from over 40 countries across every continent.
Venue: One Great George Street, 1 Great George St, London SW1P 3AA
*Attendance at the awards is restricted to Premium Pass holders only.
The Tech Capital Global Awards recognise measurable achievement across the digital infrastructure ecosystem. The programme honours organisations and individuals whose strategic decisions, operational execution and long-term vision have shaped how digital infrastructure is financed, built and governed globally.
At a time when capital discipline, energy constraints and execution risk define industry outcomes, the Awards focus on demonstrable performance rather than narrative positioning. Categories span investment, operations, energy strategy, legal and policy leadership, innovation and emerging leadership, reflecting the full breadth of the ecosystem underpinning the global digital economy.
Now in its fifth edition, the Awards bring together senior executives from capital allocators, infrastructure operators, hyperscale cloud platforms, energy stakeholders, legal advisers and policymakers. The ceremony provides an opportunity not only to recognise achievement but to reinforce standards of performance, governance and accountability within a sector of growing economic significance.
Why Recognition Matters
In a capital-intensive and strategically critical sector, recognition is not symbolic. It signals performance benchmarks, reinforces governance standards and provides comparative insight into what constitutes excellence across regions and disciplines.
The Awards serve as both acknowledgement and reference point - recognising those who deliver sustained, measurable impact within the global digital infrastructure ecosystem.
The Judging Process
All nominations submitted to The Tech Capital Global Awards undergo a structured, multi-stage evaluation process designed to ensure independence, rigour and transparency.
Entries are reviewed by a panel of 50 independent judges, comprising senior industry executives, investors, legal experts, and advisers. Judges are selected for their subject-matter expertise and regional insight, and conflicts of interest are managed throughout the evaluation process.
The assessment process includes:
• Preliminary screening and eligibility verification
• Quantitative scoring against defined criteria
• Qualitative review of supporting documentation
• Peer comparison within each category
• Editorial due diligence where appropriate
Judging criteria focus on measurable performance, strategic impact, execution quality, sustainability considerations and contribution to industry advancement. The process emphasises evidence-based assessment rather than marketing submissions.
Final selections are made following aggregated scoring and panel review. The integrity of the evaluation process is central to the Awards’ credibility and standing within the digital infrastructure community.
Eligibility typically includes professionals, companies, or projects that operate within the digital infrastructure segment. This includes data centres, cell towers, terrestrial fibre, subsea fibre, satellites, edge computing, TMT across a series of segments such as operators, investors, legal houses, public sector and government, research firms, consultancies, real estate firms, and anyone that works in the field.
Previous winners are allowed to submit new entries, however, the submission must respect the timeframe of the awards, 1 March 2025 and 30 January 2026 .
Submissions are made online through a dedicated portal available at www.awards.thetechcapital.com/
The deadlines for the 2026 edition is set for January 30. There are no fees to participating in the awards, although attendance of the Awards Show & Dinner requires the purchase of a Premium Pass.
Submissions should answer three compulsory questions via the portal. Optional: additional context (max 450 words), supporting documents, video, or testimonials are also accepted.
Many awards allow submissions in multiple categories, but this may require separate entries. Always check the specific criteria for each award program as judges value well-thought-through entries as opposed to a copy-and-paste wave.
Winners will receive a bespoke The Tech Capital trophy and participate in a short video interview at the Awards evening as well as receive pictures of themselves during the night. Further opportunities will be discussed with the winners post-awards.
Should you have any inquiries or need help in relation to the submission process or about the Awards Show & Dinner, please email us at [email protected]
No, winners will not be told they won in advance. The results are kept confidential until the official announcement at the awards ceremony to maintain fairness and excitement for all participants. All marketing materials and trophies are only completed on the day of the announcement too.
Confidentiality is paramount in our submission process. Only assigned judges and essential administrators have access to entries, with strict measures in place to prevent conflicts of interest. We utilize a secure internal platform to safeguard all submissions, ensuring no unauthorized access, including by journalists. Post-judging, entries are retained for a maximum of one month before being permanently deleted. Regarding feedback for non-selected entries, it is up to the Head Judge to evaluate which request.
Our judges are selected based on industry merit and background, representing diverse expertise and regions. We assemble a panel of over 40 judges from various fields, including operations, finance, investment, regulatory, energy, technology, public sectors and more. A rigorous due diligence process ensures impartiality by preventing conflicts of interest in category assignments. Judges evaluate submissions using predetermined criteria available on the awards website, with multiple reviewers per entry to ensure fairness. A Head Judge is also assigned to oversee the process. This comprehensive approach maintains the awards' credibility, transparency and recognizes true excellence in each category.
The Awards Show & Dinner venue accommodates delegates with disabilities. Please inform us of any special requirements in advance via [email protected]
