Michael Elias is a Director at Cowen Inc., based in the United States. He assumed this role in January 2024. Prior to this, he served as Vice President at Cowen Inc. from February 2021 to January 2024.

As Chief Executive, Michael Tobin OBE led TelecityGroup plc, a leading FTSE250 Technology company from 2002 to 2014.

He joined Redbus in 2002 delisting it from the main market to AIM, & then took it private, winning the London Business Awards “Business Turnaround of the Year” award in 2005. After engineering the merger with Telecity, & the acquisition of Globix he successfully re-listed TelecityGroup in October 2007 winning the accolade of UK Innovation Awards IPO of the year 2008 & the techMARK Personality of the year in the same year.

Subsequently he grew the business organically & acquired businesses in Manchester, Helsinki, Dublin, Sofia, Istanbul & Warsaw transforming the company from £6m market cap in 2002 to being a top performer in the FTSE250 worth over £2.5Bn, being recognized as Britain’s Most admired Tech Company in 2012.

Prior to joining TelecityGroup, Tobin headed-up Fujitsu’s e-Commerce operations in Frankfurt, Germany. Before that, he ran ICL’s Danish outsourcing subsidiary out of Copenhagen Denmark. He also held several senior positions based in Paris for over 11 years including Business Development Director at International Computer Group coordinating global distribution of IT infrastructure.

As a Non Exec Director, Tobin was instrumental in transforming PACNET in Hong Kong from a Sub Sea Cable operator to a successful Datacenter operator culminating in its sale in 2015 to Telstra for $800m. In 2017 he was the key driver of the sale of Itconic in Spain to Equinix generating over 7x money for Carlyle in just 19 months, and as a NED oversaw the sale of Datapipe in New York to Rackspace and Basefarm in Norway to Orange on behalf of Abry Partners.

Tobin has been involved in multiple PE backed Datacentre transactions around the world including Teraco in South Africa, ITConic in Spain, Basefarm in Norway and Datapipe in the USA. He currently holds numerous Technology Non-Exec Directorships around the world & is the Chair of AIM listed Audioboom plc and BigBlu Broadband plc.

Mr Tobin is Chairman of the Friends of The Loomba Trust supporting widows in India, a Patron and Founders Circle Member of The British Asian Trust, Founder of the CEO Sleepout event for Action for Children & has sat on fundraising boards of the Princes Trust, Cooperation Ireland & the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Mr Tobin’s charitable focus is primarily the education, welfare & empowerment of young people & children around the world.

In 2016 Mr Tobin slept in the streets to raise money and awareness for Action for Children, completed his Duke of Edinburgh Diamond Award, and raised over £100k running 40 Marathons in 40 consecutive days for the 40th anniversary of the Princes Trust. Dharman Sury brings more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications and digital infrastructure.

He joined Brookfield last summer to oversee the funds investments into datacenters in Europe.

He spent the last 6 years as CFO of Data4, a privately-held european data center operator, growing the bottom-line of the company 2.6x, raising close to €1bn of debt, taking the company through two rounds of equity cycles and expanding the platform to Spain and Poland.

Priorly, Dharman spent 8 years with Orange, a telecommunications operator, in charge of corporate M&A in APAC and subsequently head of international sales for French large accounts at Orange Business Services. He started his career as a fast-track senior civil service with the French Treasury, moving then on as an advisor to a Cabinet Minister designing, and implementing innovation and R&D policies as well as the Minister’s communication and media strategy on these topics.

Dharman was nominated Top10 CFOs of French mid-caps by DAF Magazine in 2017 and Top50 Global Leaders in Data Center Finance in 2019 by Data Economy.

Dharman is a graduate of the Ecole des Mines de Paris and of the Corps des Mines.

May-Ann is the Director of Access Partnership's Data Governance team and is concurrently the Emeritus Director of the Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA). She has extensive experience in technology policy development, such as data governance policies, digital economy, emerging technology, and cybersecurity. She has worked with many global, regional, and local organisations such as APEC, ASEAN, PECC, INTERPOL, Council of Europe (CoE), the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), FELEBAN in Latin America, the ACCA, and the Asia Internet Coalition (AIC), on thought leadership development, government outreach, and stakeholder engagement efforts, such as the development of the ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2020.

She has been appointed to the Singapore Data Protection Appeal Panel 2019-2023, and sits on various international agency task forces, such as the World Bank Group’s Cloud and Data Infrastructure Private Sector Advisory Committee, World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Digital ASEAN Taskforce, the Data & Jurisdiction Team for the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network. A strong advocate for inclusive education, digital literacy, and sustainability, May-Ann also volunteers as a youth mentor with Advisory Singapore, and with nonprofit organisation Engineering Good, which focuses on assistive technology and digital inclusion of the underprivileged and disabled.

Dr. Lara launched Sigma Economics on the back of over 20 years’ of experience as a competition and regulatory policy expert.

She has direct experience of influencing regulatory decisions at the highest level and understating what matters most to decision makers. Currently, she serves as NED on the boards of the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority (a regulatory body) and Portsmouth Water (a regulated commercial entity).

Prior to launching Sigma Economics, Dr. Lara worked as a Partner and Co-lead of the Competition and Regulatory practice at Flint Global. She has also worked in senior roles at the UK’s Competition Authority (CMA) and Ofcom.

Lara has recently cofounded Simulnova Software to develop state-of the-art digital twin software applications. The firm’s mission is to help firms understand the complex, interconnected nature of their risks and identify the best solutions to mitigate them.

Laurence G. Hainault is a senior managing director in Evercore’s strategic advisory business based in Paris.

Ms. Hainault has more than 25 years of experience advising telecommunications and telecom infrastructure companies and funds at Credit Suisse and before that at DLJ in London and New York.

Prior to joining Evercore in 2023, Ms. Hainault served as managing director and head of EMEA telecom for Credit Suisse based in Paris, where she was a driving force behind the establishment of its digital infrastructure advisory business.

Loo Jr. has led valuations of large individual and portfolio valuations spanning multiple countries across six continents (NA, EMEA, APAC, LATAM and African regions) and has consulted on a number of the world’s largest data centers.

Waleed Saraf is a Principal Investment Officer and Regional Head for IFC’s TMT/Digital Infrastructure business in Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. Waleed has over 18 years of experience in sourcing, structuring, and monitoring infrastructure investments, across debt, mezzanine and equity products in emerging markets in Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Asia. In his current role, Waleed supports IFC’s digital business, focusing on business development across Asia Pacific. Waleed holds an MBA from London Business School.

Dr. Ben Happel is the founding Partner of Altman Solon’s Singapore team and is a leader of the firm’s engagement with Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT) clients in the Asian-Pacific (APAC).

He has been with Partners Group since 2008 and has 18 years of industry experience.

Prior to joining Partners Group, he worked at UniCredit Group, L.E.K. Consulting and Apax Partners. He holds a PhD in world economics from Financial University, Moscow and Master’s in European Business from ESCP Europe. He is also a Financial Risk Manager.

Tim Knowles is an experienced finance and M&A professional with significant expertise in telecommunications and emerging markets, serving both as an advisor and a principal. He has managed and closed over 20 deals with a cumulative value exceeding USD 50 billion. Notable transactions include Etisalat’s USD 5.8 billion acquisition of 53% of Maroc Telecom, Qtel’s USD 3.8 billion acquisition of Wataniya, PCCW’s USD 28 billion acquisition of HKT, and the creation of EADS valued at USD 15 billion.

His M&A experience spans across LATAM (Colombia, Peru, El Salvador), Africa (DRC, Ghana, Tanzania, Senegal, Atlantique Telecom, Maroc Telecom), Asia (Hong Kong, India, Malaysia), and Europe (UK, France, Switzerland, Finland). In addition, Tim has experience in capital raisings, having managed and participated in roadshows for the Maxis IPO, Synthes follow-on IPO, EADS IPO, and various debt financings, such as the complex demerger financing for C&W.

Tim has also gained significant business planning and operational experience from managing the strategic and business planning processes at Maxis (Malaysia) and participating in similar processes for Millicom across 17 countries. Bill Barney is Chairman of Asian Century Equity. During his 25-year tenure as an investor,

board member and CEO in Asia, Bill Barney assembled and managed some of the

strongest performing management teams in the region. These teams consistently

achieved the industry's highest growth rates for both EBITDA and revenue growth.

Most recently, Bill co-founded and is Chairman of Modularity, a pioneering company

dedicated to transforming the creation and development of large-scale undersea

communications networks through its American-built modular edge data centers and

modular cable landing station solutions.

Earlier Bill was founder and CEO of Turbidite which he sold in 18 months. Before that,

Bill served as Chairman and CEO of Global Cloud Xchange and Reliance Communication.

Prior to these roles, he spent a decade as CEO of Pacnet. He also served as APAC

President at MCI Worldcom, VP of AMEA at Global One (now Orange Business Services)

and held leadership roles at AT&T.

Across the telecom and technology sectors, Bill has been an advocate for regulatory and

industry change and a major proponent of Cloud Computing and Open networks. He

currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Pacific

Telecommunications Council (PTC) and is host of PTC’s Digging Into the Future, a Vlog

talk show featuring discussions with tech CEOs from all over the world.

Over the past two decades, Bill has received numerous accolades for his industry

leadership including DataCloud Asia’s Thought Leadership awards in 2018 and Data

Center Achievement Award in 2017. Earlier he was voted Best APAC Telecom

Victor Chiew is a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills currently on secondment to Prolegis LLC, the firm's Formal Law Alliance partner firm in Singapore. Jing is a Senior Director in Alternatives and Strategic Transactions team at Nuveen. She leads the build out of the data centre subsector of Nuveen Real Estate’s alternative portfolio.

Jing joined Nuveen from CBRE where she worked in the Data Centre Solutions team and provided advisory services in the Data Centre sector across APAC region. Prior to that, Jing worked for six years at Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR/S&P 500), where she held several management roles in portfolio asset management team and investment team. She also served as the company’s spokeswomen in Hong Kong. Jing started her real estate career at Eureka Fund Management (now known as AXA IM Australia) in 2006, where she managed the finance function for an AUD $800 million commercial property and hotel fund as part of the company’s AUD $4 billion AUM.

Jonathan is a Partner at PMP in charge of the Global Datacenter, Cloud & Software Practices as well as the Private Equity Practice. He mainly advises infrastructure investors and Private Equity firms.

Jonathan started his career in Investment Banking at ABN Amro Corporate Finance in Paris and NYC and then worked 10 years at Orange in NYC and Paris in Corporate Dev roles and then VP M&A. Afterwards, he was successively the Head of M&A of 3 corporates: VimpelCom / Veon (#7 largest telco in the world) in Amsterdam, Cegid (#3 SaaS seller in France, owned by Silver Lake and KKR) and Carrefour (#2 largest retailer in the world). He closed more than 60+ deals in his career as a principal throughout the globe.

Jonathan has been a panellist in many TMT conferences in Europe and in the US and he graduated from HEC Paris business school and a JD from Paris I Sorbonne.

Ioanna specializes in structuring and leading complex multi-million Euro deals and projects. She was previously the Investments & Development Director at DIMERA GROUP (infrastructure, tourism, media, F & B, and sports) where she led - inter alia - the negotiations and acquisition agreement of the Porto Carras companies at a price of €205m.

For several years, Ioanna has served as Advisor to various Greek Ministers of Infrastructure, Transport, Communications, the Minister of Economy & Development (responsible for Industry & Trade) and the Deputy Minister of Economy & Development, dealing extensively with national reforms and EU financing programmes.

She was the National Coordinator of the "Investment Promotion and Strategic Investments" EU SRSP Project under the World Bank, and the coordinator of the inter-ministerial team responsible for the national framework filming industry incentives (cash rebate, tax relief, shooting licensing acceleration).

As Director at the Office of the Secretary General of Telecommunications, Posts & Digital Governance, she was chief negotiator for the Closure of the Digital Convergence EU Financing Programme 2007-2014, achieving absorption of ~€1 billion, and for the shaping of the ICT EU Financing Programme 2014-2020, securing more than €1 billion of EU funding.

Ioanna has served as an elected Member of the Delegation of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) for 5 consecutive terms, and as Vice Chairman of the Hellenic Association of ICT Engineers.
